Security Cable Lock
Question:
Exactly HOW effective is a security cable lock for your laptop?
In a day or so I’m about to purchase a cable lock for my new laptop that I’m going to use while I’m in university.
It’ll give me some peace of mind knowing it’ll be safe. But I would absolutely love having complete peace of mind instead.
Is a security cable lock (particularly the Kensington ones) really effective to keep my laptop safe?
I’d appreciate any input!

Cable locks are similar to the chains you use to lock up bikes.
They will stop the opportunistic thief, but if someone is really determined then there are tools that they can use to cut the lock.
